Working towards my Duke of Edinburgh's Award was a very rewarding experience. I found that the volunteering component was an excellent opportunity to give back to the local community, and the physical and skills sections emphasised the importance of staying active and working towards a goal to improve at something. The opportunity to go on a self-planned team expedition also helped us all develop invaluable life skills.
