Abi France

I loved the opportunity to complete all 3 stages of the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme. The most useful attribute I have gained is determination in the face of adversity. On the gold DofE practice expedition, the sole of my boot completely fell off. At this point I had to think quite literally on my feet. I used the gaffa tape that was holding the sponges to the bag on my shoulder to patch them up to make it through to the end! Putting up tents has to my favourite skill i have learn’t and helping put everyone elses tents up too! After this I went on to become an Engineer and the determination and the skills I learn’t from DofE helped me to pursue my dream career. I am now hoping to become back involved in the scheme and reach the assessor level.
