The DofE scheme helped me to branch out and try different hobbies such as art and photography as well as maintain existing extracurriculars. It also allowed me to go outdoors, and I really enjoyed hiking in the hills, which has now encouraged me to make sure I get out of the house every day and breath in nature. The hike also taught me how to use a compass correctly and navigate maps - a new skill that was challenging at first, but then extremely useful.

It has also instilled a sense of service to the community in me. Having never done so before DofE, I have now undergone various volunteering schemes at a care home and online.
