As a Foster Parent of a young person doing Duke of Edinburgh for the first time I found the time spent during lockdown working towards the physical activity hours and volunteering invaluable. It has kept my young person focused on a positive goal, undoubtedly increased his physical activity skills and played a key part in volunteering with the Oasis Hub Community kitchen providing emergency meals for the community.
This experience in such an unstable time for us all will be part of our lockdown memories for many years to come. Thank you DofE and Mr Reid of The Blue Coat School Oldham for all the encouragement, adaptations and uplifting 'tweets' and messages to keep our young people motivated.
