Having never been offered the chance to participate in the Duke of Edinburgh scheme I was delighted that my children were , through their school, and Explorer Scouts. Our daughter achieved a well deserved Gold award, and our son, the Bronze.
As a Group Scout Leader I have also been delighted to welcome to our group many young people to complete their volunteering activity through working with the different sections in our group. Several have continued as Young Leaders after the period of time, and some have also decided to become leaders themselves. We will continue to welcome them, and help all young people to achieve.
