As a holder of the Duke of Edinburghs Gold Award, and then as a Gold Award Guide at gold award presentations for 13 years, I was lucky enough to meet HRH on numerous occasions. It always amazed how good he was at engaging with people and making them feel at ease. I hope that the Duke of Edinburghs Award scheme remains a fantastic legacy of an amazing man. Without the award scheme I would not have met some amazing friends, or had many fantastic experiences and memories.
