Hannah Harvey

I have managed to complete my Bronze, Silver and Gold awards successfully and I’m extremely grateful for the Duke of Edinburgh for providing me with this opportunity. I have made life long memories and skills that will help me for the future.

One memory that sticks with me is when I climbed Snowdon, Wales on my Gold expedition. The group and I were tired and the weather was horrible but it was such a good sense of achievement. After also climbing Scafell Pike, Lake District, it has motivated me to climb more mountains in the U.K and beyond.

I’m very proud to say I am a Gold Award Holder, I even had the winning horse on the Duke of Edinburgh stakes at Royal Ascot in 2019!

Unfortunately, I wasn’t lucky enough to meet HRH Prince Philip himself but he will always be remembered for everything he achieved and the opportunities he gave.

Sending my condolences to Her Majesty the Queen and the Royal Family at this very sad time. Rest in Peace.
