Participating & completing my DofE Bronze, Silver & Gold Awards as a young person had a huge impact on my direction and interests into adult life. It provided a great focus for me. I learnt to play an instrument, how to conduct myself on expeditions, volunteering at local youth groups and playing sport for my Physical section.
My experiences on the expeditions were inspirational and developed a love for the outdoors and wilderness adventure that I have now.
I am currently a DofE manager at a high school in Norfolk.
Hopefully my enthusiasm for the DofE Award will have a positive impact on the many students who participate on the Award scheme here at school.
