Dorothea Oyetunde

I am grateful for the opportunity to participate in the DoE Bronze challenge. At first, I was anxious about the task and not sleeping within the comfort of my own home. But my mum encouraged me to try it out. Luckily, some of my friends were also in my group so I was then looking forward to the experience. We did the training first and it was fun. We then went away for the exploration which was also fun since we had to walk with our big back pack containing food, water and all the equipment needed. There were aspects of the days that were challenging but it gave me the opportunity learn new skills such as setting up the tent and cooking without a cooker. Overall, it gave me the confidence to try new activities and learn some of life saving skills. Thank you to HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh for setting up this great Award.
