I completed my Gold Award at the Army Apprentice School Carlisle in 1965. My parents received an invitation to Holyrood House for the presentation, however I had already been posted to the Far East. As Prince Phillip was returning from a tour of The Middle East, Far East and Australia he agreed to present the award while overnight in Singapore in 1967.
