Rachel Peggie

It’s been about 15 years since I completed my Bronze and Silver levels of the Duke of Edinburgh award scheme. I have fond memories of hiking and camping in fields with my friends/fellow DofE’ers. One particular night as we camped, the tents were continually lit up as we experienced thunder and lightning. It was truly a thrilling experience for a group of teenagers to be away and achieve something that felt so great without an adult in sight.

As part of the award I also helped out in a local home that housed disabled children. A truly rewarding and humbling experience that every teenager should have the opportunity to undertake!!

Thank you and rest in peace, Prince Philip.
