I achieved my bronze, silver and gold award. My gold was presented to me at St James Palace in 2003 in the presents of his majesty The Duke of Edinburgh. My mum was super proud. I enjoyed fishing as a skill and sheep farming as my residential stay. I had an expedition in North Norfolk right next to Sandringham, the Duke was not in residence! I also saw North Wales and volunteered at a Raptor Centre and a Care Home for the elderly, I will never forget the liver and onions I had to serve!

I have no doubt my D of E suscces was fundamental in being offered a place at Cardiff University which is were I met my wife, with whom I now have two boys who I'm certain will go on to doing their D of E Award.
