I remember hating going walking with my grandparents, who lived on the edge of the Peak District. But then I did my Bronze award, thinking I ‘ought to really’, and discovered a love for the great outdoors. I then did my Silver during COVID, meaning we did the training combined with the expedition and ended up camping for 5 days! It was incredibly good fun though! Because of DofE I will now be hiking a marathon in the peaks for Macmillan this summer, and I have already raised over £400 for them. Thank you, Prince Philip, your legacy will last forever ️.
