At first I was very skeptical about doing the award as I have dyspraxia and I was scared I would struggle too much. However when I went on the first practice expedition I realised how fun it was so I was happy I signed up. I learnt valuable skills such as teamwork, bravery and resilience which I know I will carry with me for the rest of my life. Even though it was extremely challenging and I struggled I am so proud of myself for doing this. The camping and the volunteering side of the award forced me to talk and cooperate with other people who I would not normally talk to which hugely improved my confidence. The group I did the award with were so supportive and encouraging which is so important on something like this. I know that this award has given me so many happy memories that I will treasure. I am so grateful to have had this opportunity as I know doing the award did so much for me as a person and made me realise that no matter that struggles I face I can do everything that everyone else does.
