I have many wonderful memories of both my Bronze and Gold awards, and had experiences i'd never have had otherwise. Volunteering with my local Brownie pack in my GAP year was rewarding and fun, and probably not something I would otherwise considered doing. Expedititions and practice expeditions were undertaken in a range of weather conditions - from torrential rain in Dorset on one to the most beautifully sunny 5 days Wales has probably ever seen for the Gold expedition. My main memory will be of the stunning scenery and waking up very early with my team to start walking so we were finished by 3 and could then relax in the campsite in the sun! Thank you to the Duke of Edinburgh for setting up this wonderful scheme and good luck to all those currently taking part.
