I can still remember being half way through my bronze expedition (it was raining and cold) and saying “I will never do this again”... fast forward a few years and I was fortunate to meet Prince Philip while receiving my Gold award at St James Palace!

The experiences and things I learned while working towards each Award helped to shape my attitude and work ethic and helped me stand out when applying for jobs. When I applied for a training contract to become a solicitor, the first interview question was about the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

I still reminisce with friends about the long days of walking in Dartmoor and the Brecon Beacons and we laugh at the memories... one of the most exciting days was finding a hidden postbox in the Moors!
