Harry Pink

I completed my gold and bronze DoE. I also later became support staff as an assistant leader. Completing the two awards was such an immense experience for me, I enjoyed every moment. It has so far inspired me to complete many personal expeditions across the country developing all my skills further. Throughout the award there was suffering and difficult times, however when everything came together on eDofE, I felt such an accomplishment; all my volunteering, physical, skill, residential and expedition sections finally complete, and I take pride in both my badges I have been awarded. My time as an assistant leader has been equally exhilarating; from having the opportunity to lead and teach expedition training in the classroom, to going out in the fields to assist instructors, which helped me out considerably for securing a future in the industry. All this would not be possible without HRH Prince Philip starting the scheme. It has brought experiences not only to me but my friends and family who also have shared a part in the adventure, from my mother completing hers in the 1980s to my siblings currently undertaking their award. My friends and I bonded so much during the time and often still talk very fondly of it to this day. The opportunity is not to be missed. What I would give to re-live the fun times.
