Sarah Parker

I wanted to do the D of E awards because I mum completed it when she was younger and got to meet Prince Philip at the Palace which was a very special day for her. I wanted to follow in footsteps and be able to meet him too, so as soon as the DofE was offered in 6th Form, I was excited to sign up.

I really enjoyed doing the bronze award because it took me out of my comfort zone and helped me try things that I'd never done before, and was also a great way of getting to know other people in my year, as I am a naturally shy person.

My only regret is that I didn't complete my gold award before my 25th birthday and now am too old to do it in honour of Prince Philip.
