Alison Carlisle
I complete the bronze award 20 years ago whilst in high school.
That weekend with my friends has always been one of the best memories from school days.
It was my first experience of camping, hiking and exploring but after that I was hooked.
I recall my family couldn’t afford the walking boots or bag and having to borrow all equipment from the school, also one team mate leaving all her food at home and the rest of us having to split our lunches to feed her too.
Completion was challenging but very empowering.
I’m extremely grateful, the experience, the memory and the start of a lifetime hobby.
