Martin Green
I would like to start by expressing my sadness on the passing of the Duke of Edinburgh.
This award scheme truly changed my life ambitions, It gave me self belief and a drive to better myself throughout my life. I hold so many fond memories of this chapter in my life and that of meeting the Duke of Edinburgh at St James’s Palace.
For part of my award I spent several months in Namibia with Raleigh International. During this time I worked on various projects including working to build a school,
Trekking through the desert plus working along side a Cheetah which I will enclose a photo off.
Whilst speaking with the the Duke of Edinburgh at the palace I noticed his tie was twisted and could make out that it was from Marks and Spencer. This makes me smile even now when I think of this. He had a way with people that one can never replace.
