For the silver award my friend and I launched a magazine that was an alternative to our official school magazine. It was irreverent, creative, controversial and it outsold the school magazine almost immediately (it ran for 4 issues). We got contributions from household names, current and ex-pupils. We had the whole-hearted support of the head master and half the staffroom (the other half were outraged! Proper marmite stuff!).

I rather think the Duke would have approved of the magazine and the rebellious spirit with which it was made. Good for him and the DofE team for fostering such an enterprising initiative.
