I thoroughly enjoyed completing my bronze DofE award and I feel as though I have developed many new skills from my experience including teamwork, leadership and problem solving! Developing skills in problem solving was particularly useful when we ended up walking in circles around the campsite for two hours in the morning, trying to find the specific footpath we were meant to be walking on! Luckily, we did manage to find the correct footpath, and the rest of the expedition went as smoothly as it possibly could with seven school children in the middle of the countryside! We had many laughs and enjoyed overcoming hurdles and celebrating successes (such as successfully putting up the tent on the first try!) and I will always look back on my DofE experience as one of the most enjoyable and educational experience of my time at school.
