Ruth Scott

II achieved my gold award on the 2nd year of girls being allowed to enter the scheme in 1962. I received my award from the Duke of Edinburgh at Holyrood House in Edinburgh
The award scheme turned me from a shy stay at home person into a confident person who tackled life s problems The lessons I learned with the award scheme has stood me in good stead all my life I would encourage anyone especially if shy or not confident to sign up for the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme I am happy to say that my great nephew did so and achieved
gold standard and is now in the RAF At least 3 generations have to thank the Duke of Edinburgh for giving them confidence and the courage to achieve things they might not have He will be sadly missed by all
