The DofE award has a dear place in my heart since completing it aged 18. It inspired my love of the outdoors which is a passion I have passed on to my children. It also made me far more resilient and overcome many life challenges. I am now a Scout leader and really excited to share the Award scheme with my troop.

I also have fond memories of meeting the Duke at St James Palace to receive my Gold Award. The day is etched in my memory especially the impression of meeting the Duke as he addressed the groups of Award holders.
