The Duke of Edinburgh scheme is an exceptionally enjoyable experience, where you are able to learn many new things about yourself. For me, I learned that I am a natural leader and really enjoy the expedition phase of the scheme. Volunteering is also a huge benefit to yourself and also to society and so the scheme encourages giving back to those in need which is something that I really appreciate. The scheme also causes you to come out of your comfort zone and shell which is hugely important.
