Two fabulous expeditions and much writing. I remember walking (for some reason bootless) for several miles with a friend (also bootless) on the evening between hikes.

I regret not taking my gold to this day, but my time gave me a huge love of the outdoors and I still recall my times with the DofE as my best in an otherwise troubled school time.
