I received.my DofE Gold award from The Duke himself in 1990. I was thrilled to meet him and he made the time to take an interest in what I’d done. Latterly, for the past 5 years, I’ve been involved as an expedition supervisor and have seen so many young people develop into accomplished young adults as a consequence. The Duke has had a massive part in th development of young people, amongst many other things, in this and other countries and he will be missed sadly. He is irreplaceable. My thoughts are with Her Majesty The Queen and all of his relatives and friends.
