Had a super fun time in 1988 doing my Bronze award under the guidance of Nigel Norris at the YWCA in Plymouth - don’t know how he put up with us!! - sorry and thank you Nigel! An eventful expedition which saw us take about 7 hours to walk 7 miles (they almost had the rescue out I think!) after which we camped too close to a river which burst its banks due to the torrential rain which we slept soundly through, waking to the noise of someone ‘knocking’ on our tent as we were surrounded by water which poured in when we unzipped it! Good times :D
On a more serious note my volunteering section was done at the local vets which started me on the path to becoming the Vet nurse I am today! Grateful thanks to HRH Prince Phillip.
