The Duke of Edinburgh scheme I will be forever grateful for from the the last few years of school prior to University.

It taught me the values of teamwork, time management and character building to become the best version of yourself from volunteering, a skillset, a sport, a residential project and expeditions taking you to the most beautiful parts of the country.

These experiences over the duration united you with others in the scheme with the same common goals but came together from different school classes and backgrounds.

I will cherish the memories and experiences with my favourites including Volunteering as an instructor for an outdoor extra ciricular programme at my school to teach students to embrace and survive the outdoors, treking Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania for a Zambian charity as part of my residential and canoeing on both the River Severn and River Wyre for practice and final expeditions.

These adventures tested my capabilities and allowed me to prove to myself what sort of person I was and without them I wouldnt be the character I am today.

HRH Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh truly touched and shaped many lives with this scheme, mine included. I hope it may live on in his memory to inspire more people to discover their true potential.
