Having gained my Bronze and Silver Awards I gained my Gold Award in 1987. This was such a fantastic achievement and many lifelong friends have been made. I gained my awards whilst at Limavady High School, N.Ireland and had my presentation at St.James Palace. I completed my service with the Scout Association and still continue to volunteer some 30 years later. Other areas included Sailing, becoming a gymnastics coach and taking up new hobbies. Gaining the awards has given me the confidence to achieve many life goals and to push myself, which I still continue to do. There were many laughs & tears along the way, countless blisters and when the frame on my rucksack dug in but on hindsight this was a very small price to pay for the many achievements gained. I still share memories of our adventures. Thankyou Prince Philip for having the aspiration to create such a fantastic Award which has seen millions of young people gain so much and continue to do so. Without your insight and drive to create these Awards who knows ..... THANKYOU
