I first started the DofE award as a teenager, who enjoyed exploring with her friends and volunteering at a local netball club. Little did I know, over 10 years down the line I would be a Gold Duke of Edinburgh holder and qualified PE teacher with the ambition to inspire others. I often tell the younger generation of the fun I had, my stories and skills learnt over the journey, especially attending the palace to receive my Gold award. Now I enjoy taking pupils on their own journey of discovery as I have become a DofE staff member within school. Memories I will cherish forever.
