My three daughters all gained their Gold DofE awards through the Girls Brigade. My husband and I not only took our daughters but other girls in their expeditions where we spent many hours and have such fond memories one time on searching for a girl who never reached her checkpoint only later found to be escorted by a policeman. Very easy to get lost in fields etc. We camped in all sorts of weathers drove hundreds of miles but those girls achievements gave us so much pleasure. Proud parents and officers in seeing girls receive their awards. Through the award our own daughters excelled in their careers learnt new skills and help many people in the service requirement. A award which can be gained whatever capacity or education. A challenge which all our daughters enjoyed helping make them better citizens and equipping them with life skills.
