Sam Walkington

I'm currently participating in my Bronze DofE award and really enjoying it. I have Cerebral Palsy and taking part is helping me to realise what I can do for myself. Due to the pandemic I've had to be creative and do things differently, but I'm used to that! I've learnt to cook, trained on my rollers for wheelchair racing and I'm now volunteering at a nature reserve. With restrictions easing I'm hoping to canoe along the Thames for my expedition along with fellow participants. The award is helping me to be more resilient and I'm more determined than ever to finish it after hearing of the sad passing of the very man who set up the awards. RIP Prince Phillip.
