Lucy Hodges MBE
I achieved my Gold Award, it was no mean feat but what an adventure. I am registered blind with Nystagmus but it did not hold me back if anything it set me up for life learning to adapt.
Key skills I learnt was team work communication and determination everything I needed in life to cope with my disability. Also being disabled ment I did not have a part time job it was enough for me to catch up with school work. But, being able to put Gold Award DOE on my application went a long way, the service and skill counted for a lot. I am truly grateful and thankful to have achieved my award.
