“My whole experience of gold DofE was a challenge. I struggled to complete it and found the expedition in particular stretched me beyond anything I thought I could cope with. I had many people tell me I couldn't do it. I had some spectacular failures along the way but also some spectacular opportunities to find out things about myself that I would never have known if I hadn’t taken part in the award. I am a stronger person with more belief in myself and my abilities because of my involvement with the award and despite everything I would not change it. Thanks to the award and the duke for what he gave to it and all the participants over the years. DOFE proved it is accessible for all!
