C.P.O. (SCC) Paul Webster BEM I'm a Duke of Edinburgh Gold Award Holder, I completed my Gold Award back in 1996 I did this with two Other PO's and Other Sea Cadets and Sea Cadets Instructors across the UK.
At the Time We were all PO's going for Gold, Completing the Gold Award is the Best Experience I had ever had to Overcome, at the Time I was struggling with Epilepsy and Lacking Self Confidence.
I was helping at the British Red Cross as a Volunteer and also with The Sea Cadets, I have now left the Red Cross but I still Volunteer with the Sea Cadets with T.S. Churchill, Ashford Sea Cadets & Royal Marines Cadets. When I did My Gold we did the Expedition in Bavaria, and the Residential Project, We did the Camping Out and the Cooking in Wild Country, I did White Water Rafting, Snow & Ice Glazier Climbing in Austria, in My Physical I did Cricket, Skill was First Aid and Volunteering was Sea Cadets and Red Cross I had Served 32 Years with the Red Cross and just Completed my 30 Years Service with the Sea Cadets of which I am still serving, I'm now a Unit Leader for at the Time Bromley Sea Cadets and Now with Ashford Sea Cadets & Royal Marines Cadets, I have seen Cadets Complete Bronze and Silver and also their Gold Awards. When I was at Bromley I was also part of the DofE Committee for Bromley Council and have seen Hundreds of Puplis get their Awards, Seeing the Cadets Receive their Awards gives me a Sense of Pride, That What my achievement's have done are now being put back into the Community The Duke Of Edinburgh's Award will be a Legacy that will always continue at our Unit, I think it is so Important to give Young People the Best Cadet Experience possible, and to make them Model Citizens in the Cadet Forces Movement and also in the Project YOU Youth Organisations in Uniform.
