I have completed all 3 levels of the DofE, memories I truly do refer to in day to day life, job interviews and University applications. I volunteered teaching ICT to the elderly in a local care home. It was so rewarding to bring computing and the Internet to the residents and show them how to order knitted jumpers and how to check their lottery numbers! The expeditions were always so fun even in the rain or when getting chased by cows! It gave me experiences not many people have had such as on Bronze I woke up with a bull sleeping on the edge of the tent! Silver I slipped off a footbridge and landed in the river! and on Gold I gave first aid to a sheep in the Yorkshire Dales. Upon completion I then went onto work in an outdoor shop selling equipment and advising young people like myself what to take on their DofE expeditions and helping them chose all their kit. The DofE award really is such a brilliant experience and the award ceremony at Buckingham Palace is something I will treasure forever.
