My favourite experience of DofE was my Gold award expedition.

Myself and five fellow students spent 10 days on a boat learning from experienced sailors. Our expedition took us round the Western Isles of Scotland. We sailed in a variety of weathers and even did some night sailing!

I feel so privileged to have that experience of something I'd never tried before. It was all due the DofE programme, which importantly encourages all young people, regardless of gender or background to explore and try new things!
