My DofE experience was a great challenge for me because I did it all in a wheelchair. The experience it gave me was incredible, to feel like I could overcome the barriers that would normally restrict me with this award. I did it with Kirklees, who helped me do the hardest challenge, the expedition. Our team was made up of some amazing people, we all had our struggles, both mentally and physically. But came together to conquer it as a team. Even on our expedition it started snowing! We woke up one morning and out tent had collapsed because of the snow on top of it.

I can't thank you enough for the opportunity DofE has given me. It made me feel I could do anything just like everyone else, no restrictions from a wheelchair. It may have been tougher because of this, but it made me even stronger and more determined. This is what DofE is all about, coming together and creating long lasting memories that helps build strength, courage and determination.
