We did our Gold practice expedition in the Yorkshire Dales, where the sunshine quickly turned into snow, and we were camping in a full blown blizzard! At our campsite, a local army squadron evacuated but we didn't. We huddled together in one tent as the others got broken in the weather, and kept each other going (and warm) all through the night. The next day we completed our walk and were very proud that we'd carried on. A few months later we undertook our 5-day Gold expedition on the Isle of Skye, which to date is one of my proudest achievements, and one of the most stunning parts of the UK - though a walk in the park compared to the Yorkshire blizzard!
