I had the pleasure of 12 years working at the DofE surrounded and supported by some truly inspirational people.

The Duke always understated his influence on the success of this amazing, small charity that has impacted the lives of millions for the better. But his role was pivotal.

So many memories of special occasions - HRH was so knowledgable about a great many subjects - and there was always a funny story to share as well.

With young people facing enormous challenges in today’s world, the DofE award could not be more relevant - building skills, compassion, health, confidence and resilience.

Thank you Sir for helping to give so many the ability to try new things, test their limits and achieve.

You will be remembered with great respect.
