Fifty years ago as a cadet I enrolled in the DofE scheme and it changed my life. It gave me friends who were from diverse backgrounds who remain friends to this day.
Most of all it introduced me to adventure training and the great outdoors.
Since then I have become a Gold Assessor a DofE Leader, Sea Cadet North West Area Staff Officer Adventure Training.
I remain passionate to this day about the scheme and believe it shaped me to achieve.
