I feel honoured & privileged to have taken part in the Duke of Edinburgh Award & achieve my Bronze, Silver & Gold Awards as a teenager & actually be presented with the Award by Prince Phillip himself at Buckingham Palace in 1979. In order to achieve them I took part in many activities & experiences including spending 3 months in America at 18 years old working with children & young adults. I gained many lifelong skills & grew in confidence - the person I am today is thanks to this amazing Award.
