I remember meeting HRH The Duke of Edinburgh with such fondness. I felt a sense of pride to have the honour of performing to him and her Majesty the Queen for the 60th Anniversary of the Duke of Edinburgh‘s Awards. Our conversations were about myself and my three brothers all completing our Bronze, Silver and Gold Awards and It was clear how much this scheme meant to him. His warmth and his sense of humour always made me feel at ease, even when the sense of occasion could have got the better of me. To have performed at this event will be a memory I will cherish forever and I will go forward upholding the morals and using the valuable skills and life lessons that the Duke of Edinburgh’s Award Scheme has taught me.
