My best memory is talking with the Duke of Edinburgh at my Awards Presentation at Buckingham Palace in March 1980. He made you feel so at ease and made it a memorable day.
I chose the sport of fencing for my Gold interest which is where I met my husband of 40 years. My Design for Living topic was 'Setting up a Home' which came in very useful when we brought our first home.
Miss Morton, Mr Chilvers and Mr Cowlan were my inspiration at school and helped us through all three levels. Our expeditions were in Thetford Chase, Peak District and Mid Wales. They were challenging but rewarding.
I still love to walk out in the countryside today and will always treasure my memories of doing the award.
