There is no greater joy than seeing your students complete their expeditions. To see the glee on their faces, the sense of pride & how together they form a great team. It’s such a fantastic opportunity to bond with students beyond the classroom & see them push themselves out of their comfort zones.
The last bronze expedition we did was truly amazing. 18 students who all got on so well. They played football at camp & allowed it so everyone was involved. They sang songs together. They cheered each other on. They were so grateful to us leaders that they presented us with awards at their award ceremony.
Equally, seeing students follow through with their commitments each week, gaining confidence and new skills that they wouldn’t achieve within the classroom. The whole package of DofE really refines & creates character, and it’s something I feel incredibly proud of for running and supporting.
