I got involved with DofE at 13 as an Army Cadet, it was a major part of my formative years giving me confidence and belief in myself, teaching me about commitment and seeing things through to the end.
As a cadet I then went on to join the British Army which built on the skills and abilities I learned on DofE, and throughout my life I have drawn on those skills and beliefs which has helped me go to university after being medically discharged from the Army and go on to be a senior Director in business. I also have tried to give something back and am now involved as an adult instructor with the ACF and regularly promote and assist with DofE activities and expeditions.
