Will Michell
I am very proud to be the third generation of my family to be awarded the Duke of Edinburgh's Gold Award.
My Grandad, Alan Michell, was one of the first people to get the gold award in 1959 (he's pictured 2nd from the right in the photo I uploaded) and both of my parents gained their Gold Award in the late 1980s.
Having followed in my Grandad's footsteps by doing my expedition in the Lake District I'm also looking forward to receiving my award at Buckingham Palace on 20th May, 63 years after he did the same.
He will be there to meet me outside with my dad after I attend the award ceremony with my mum.
Thank you to all the people who helped me achieve my award. It has been a great experience.
