On the 11/07/2019-16/07/2019, we set off as a team of six starting at Brecon beacons. the temperature was often in excess of 21 degrees. We travelled over many terrains with exposed ridges. Our main goals were to navigate successfully around Wales and to assess whether the walking paths provided were accessible enough for people with learning difficulties. I didn't feel held back being the only female of the group I bonded quickly with the team. We set off in the morning around 9am ish after packing up our tents, equipment and eating. Our team walked for about 8.5 hours everyday on various different types of hills and terrains for five days. At times it was hard to keep going because I hurt my foot but I kept going and finally completed the expedition. We all finally celebrated by going to a pub on the last night of Duke of Edinburgh and getting a well deserved pub meal. Thank you to Micheal John Greene who coached us and helped us to finish our Gold DoFE awards.
