Safer Choices is a skills development programme brought to you by the DSM Foundation, a drugs education charity. By completing the course, participants will gain insight into how their brains work and where friends fit in when it comes to decision making, in order that they are able to make more informed and safer choices in all kinds of situations… whether for themselves or to help their friends. There are also some simple strategies that can be put in place straightaway – using a mobile phone – to help young people stay safer, notably in social situations.
The Safer Choices programme can be used as a Skill for Bronze and Silver DofE, and is self-directed, involving downloading the materials, then working through them while making notes and completing activities. At the end, you can contact the DSM Foundation to obtain a certificate of completion.
